It's summer time and time for cool cotton goodness! Learn the ditto system for pattern projection (instead of paper patterns) and begin your stretch knit journey! We will practice cutting and sewing knit fabric, also applying a knit band on the neckline. Materials needed: Sewing machine, basic sewing kit with fabric and paper scissors, 2.5 yards cotton blend jersey knit fabric (mid weight), matching thread and jersey or stretch needles. If you want to make a paper pattern, a roll of craft paper will be provided.

The pattern is free as well as hands on instruction. Students will learn how to make a quilt sandwich, in line quilting, and corner sewing, and mitering. Bag day for ages 9-18. The summer fun begins with a draw string bag and a small snap wallet. The perfect bag for a small sewing kit or lunches for the rest of your summer sewing adventures. Students will learn to follow a pattern (included), sew seams and make a casing. Supplies needed: basic sewing kit, 6 %" charms, 1/3-yard accent fabric, 1/2-yard lining, and 2 yards twill tape. Bring a lunch. Class time is 945 drop off and pick up between 3 & 330. Experience level is for beginners who know how to use the machines or have taken the beginner classes. Don't forget your sewing machine, coordinating thread, basic sewing kit and lunch or snacks.

Sewists ages 9-18 will use a layer cake to make a patch work quilty-fabulous skirt. Students will learn how to piece fabric together create a casing with elastic and basic hemming. Students will need a layer cake (10" precuts), coordinating fabric, a package of elastic (half inch wide). Don't forget your machine, coordinating thread and lunch. Students must know how to use your sewing machine or take the Beginner Sewing class. Class drop off is 9:45 - pick up no later than 3:30pm.

Matching thread, sewing machine and a basic sewing kit. Students will also need to bring a lunch and snacks for the day. A quarter inch piecing foot and a walking foot will help with piecing and quilting. Students will receive instruction and hands on guidance specific to the machine. Young sewists between the ages of 9-18 will have the ability to choose between several different small projects, an apron, a pot holder, reversible place mats, or napkins. Students will need a yard of quilting fabric, a half yard of "insul bright" heat resistant batting, a sewing machine, coordinating thread and a basic sewing kit. Students will need to know how to use his/ her machine or take the Beginner Sewing class. Bring a lunch and snacks. Drop off at 9:45 to 3:30 pick up. Pattern included.

Students will learn the quilt as you go method of construction, topstitching and installing zippers. Patterns included in the fee. Students will need Sewing kit, sewing machine and lunch. Fabric requirements include scraps from the summer, one 7" zipper, 2 fat quarters of fabric and a fat quarter of batting. Drop off at 9:45 am and Pick up no later than 3:30.
